Items That Require Refrigeration

Some items that we sell require that they are stored within a certain temperature range in order to maintain their efficacy. These items can be any of the below, and more:

  • Probiotics

  • Vaccines

  • Medications

  • Food Products

Storage and Packaging Process

In order for us to ensure that we are delivering goods at their optimal quality, we follow the following cold chain procedures for these products:

Items are stored within appropriate temperature-controlled fridges, and at the time of order processing, items are then collected from the fridges and moved to the packing station.

At the packing station, items are then packed into pharmacy specific packaging that is designed to hold the temperature for items.

We use the following packaging procedure

  • Frozen Gel Packs placed at the bottom of the package.

  • A protective layer of packing material

  • Item/s wrapped in protective packing material

  • A protective layer of packing material

  • Frozen Gel Pack

At Healthylife, we're also serious about keeping our planet healthy so your order won't be packed in a standard polystyrene esky. The liners we use are made from washed and sterilised wool fibers that are hygroscopic, which means they absorb and release moisture, a natural thermostat that maintains stable temperatures. They are also recyclable, reusable & biodegradable.

Our packaging will then be sealed with security & refrigeration tape

Our packaging, when packed and sealed following this standard, is estimated to maintain a cold chain temperature of +2C to +8C for up to 72 hours and up to 100 hours within 15°C – 25°C for ‘ambient’ pharmaceuticals.

Shipping Process

When it comes to shipping items that require refrigeration, we take extra caution to monitor estimated delivery times.

We always want to avoid our fridge items sitting in delivery warehouses over the weekend, where the temperature may increase dramatically, and the items are not being monitored.

Therefore the following shipping procedures apply to all refrigerated items.

1) Cold chain orders will only be shipped between Monday-Wednesday. As our couriers do not operate over the weekend, and to ensure that the product is kept in optimal conditions, we will generally only dispatch these types of orders on these days.

This allows us to be confident it will not be sitting in unideal conditions over the weekend.

Where we can ship an item that we reasonably believe will arrive before the weekend, we will do so.

2) Fridge items will be sent with an express courier in order to ensure the shortest amount of transit time.

3) Fridge items may be sent separately from non-refrigerated products.

4) Any orders that contain Healthylife item that requires Cold-Chain Shipping will incur a $10.95 Express Delivery Fee (Pharmacy Cold Chain will incur a $15 Express Delivery fee). This will overwrite any other thresholds.

Delivery Procedure

Following all of the above, once a refrigerated line has been marked as delivered by the courier, it is the customer's responsibility to ensure appropriate storage requirements are met. If customers have authorised an Authority to Leave, wherever possible we recommend that our customers keep an eye on the tracking provided to ensure that the parcel isn't left in unfavourable conditions. We highly recommend to also consider the address the cold chain product is being sent to has someone readily available to receive the parcel.

We are not to be held liable should the item remain in harmful storage conditions after delivery has been completed.
